GloCal Cameroonian fellow Dr. Ouambo Hervé was featured in the October 2022 Global Environmental Health Newsletter of the NIEHS. Dr. Hervé, who is an immunologist, has been supported by NIEHS as a GloCal Health Fellow between 2021-2022. His GloCal research has examined how exposure to chemicals called per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) affect infants’ immune response to hepatitis B vaccination. Following his fellowship, Dr. Hervé plans to continue studying infectious diseases and the ties between environmental exposure and vaccine response.
